GMAT Revision Mistakes – What to avoid By Real Ingenious Education

Preparing for your GMAT can be an incredibly stressful experience when trying to juggle your work life, your social life and your academic life. The worst thing you can do in this situation is make bad revision choices that are not effective towards improving your overall score. This is why I have provided you with some common study mistakes so you know what to avoid.

  • Going through thousands of GMAT questions and answers without actually understanding how you get to the answer given.
  • Panicking a couple days before your test date and consequently staying up until 4am every night trying to cram in a month’s worth of work. Yes cramming can work sometimes, maybe for a biology assessment in high school but this technique won’t cut it for GMAT. You need to give yourself time to prepare, I suggest at least three months. Getting a nice amount of variety in your revision, and only doing small hour long revision stints everyday then giving yourself well deserved relaxation and sleep.
  • We all like to do what we are good at! However for effective revision don’t just do all the types of questions you can get right to feel good about yourself. Push yourself further than that and tackle your weakness areas. It might not be as fun or as easy but at least you will be improving your skills.
